How to piss off your car

Here's the recipe:

1) Check that no lights after parking your car
2) Turn on all the lights after parking the car

I followed this recipe myself on Kashmir Day, the 5th of February. Alas, I'd to work on this public holiday; so when I came back in the evening, the vehicle's battery didn't even have enough charge to light the dashboard.

As I was working for a client which had a workshop at the premises, I thought it wouldn't be very long before I had access to jumper cables. I hadn't reckoned with the stubborn bureaucracy inherent in governmental organizations. I couldn't convince the people at the workshop 
to loan me some jumper cables;  luckily there were some kind-hearted employees of the client who borrowed the cables and then gave them to me. This took one and a half hours; charging the car's battery took 5 minutes!

Not only did I encounter selfless kindness, I also survived Pakistani bureaucracy with a story to tell.
